Sleep and mood are intimately related. It was found that 80% of people with major depression disorder experience sleep disturbance.
You might just feel you can not fall asleep or perhaps struggle to get out of bed because you feel exhausted all the time.
Good sleep hygiene could be a key to improving the quality and quantity of your sleep. Turn off electronics an hour before you get in bed. Use dim lights to read a book or engage in any relaxing activities.

Lots of men struggle with depression throughout their lives and it can impact on them in many ways.Some men struggle to talk about their feelings or reach out for help.
Causes of depression in men
1.GENETIC FACTORS-Men with a family history of depression may be more likely to develop it than those whose famalily members do not havr.
2.ENVIRONMENTAL STRESS-Financial problems, loss of a loved one, difficult reltipnships, major life changes, work problems or any stressful situation may trigger depression in some men.
3.ILLNESS-Depression can occur with other serious medical illnesses such as diabetes, cancer,heart disease and many more.
4.ALCOHOL CONSUMPTION-Depression in men is often often associated with excessive alcohol consumption.Excessive drinking can lead to problems in your relationships and working life.

Causes of depression in women
Women experience depression at much higher rates than men. This gender disparity may be explained by a number of social, biological and hormonal factors that are specific to women.
1.PREMENSTRUAL PROBLEMS-Hormonal fuctuations during the menstrual cycle may lead to depression.
2.PREGNANCY AND INFERTILITY-Many hormonal changes that occur during pregnacy can contribute to depression as miscarriage, unwanted pregnancy and infertility.
3.PPSTPARTUM DEPRESSION-It is not uncommon for new mothers to experience the "baby blues".This condition is influenced by the hormonal fluctuations.
4.MENOPAUSE AND PERIMENOPAUSE-Women may be increased risk for depression during perimenopause leading to menopause when reproductive hormone rapidly fluctuate.

How depression can affect relationships
Depression can make it difficult to maintain supportive and fulfiling relationships.
If your partner is going through depression, they may be so overwhelmed by their symptoms that finding the energy to communicate feels impossible.
And in turn, the person facing depression may begin to feel like a burden. They may be aware of the effects their depression is having on their relationships but feel powerless to do anything about it. This can make them feel guilty and even lower their self-esteem even more.
